Technical Details
Partially Connected Synchronization Engine – Because of the nature of directional drilling, wells are often in remote locations with intermittent or no connectivity. To facilitate this challenge while still providing a data feed back to the central office as often as possible, the software was created to keep a local data store and synchronize whenever a connection is present. This engine feed data both to and from the central office data store.
Custom USB Key Based Security – To increase the secure access to sensitive data on the well site a USB key based security system was created. This system creates a custom hash using a secure application in the central office to make a personal key per user.
One Click Deployment and Zero Click Updates – Installation and upgrades to the software needed to be seamless to facilitate the dispersed nature of the employees using it. To allow for this a one click initial installation system was used allowing a user to simply click a URL to download and install the software. When software updates are published, the end user will be prompted to automatically update the application. This proved Drill Right with an easy to deploy, easy to updated application.
